Challenge
Two data centres with ageing hardware, a flat network, on-premises Exchange and Symantec for endpoint protection.
What I did
- Migrated ~25 VMs to new Hyper-V hosts and decommissioned the old hardware.
- Upgraded 7 servers with a reusable runbook.
- Segmented the network with VLANs.
- Reduced Exchange to management-only, with mail in Microsoft 365.
- Rolled out SentinelOne to replace Symantec, deployed via Intune.
Result
A modernised, segmented environment on new hardware, with mail in Microsoft 365 and modern endpoint protection.
